Youth Action Theater

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day which we will celebrate this April, OFT is excited to offer this program again. This class will empower and encourage young artists and theater-makers to explore youth action and personalize climate change by joining forces with Artists for the Earth, a global campaign that connects artists everywhere in order to engage the public in issues of environment and global warming. This workshop is for young people who are passionate about making their voices and ideas heard and using the performing arts as a vehicle to make positive and lasting change in their community. If you were part of our Fall class we would love to see you come back and work on a new show. No experience is necessary and all are welcome. We can change the world through theater! Students will perform their show for friends and family on Sunday, April 5th at 2pm.

“Artists for the Earth: As Earth Day reaches its milestone 50th Anniversary in April 2020, nature and the environment are faced with enormous challenges from loss of biodiversity, pollution, degradation of our ecosystems, and climate change. Art must join with science to personalize climate change and disseminate it to a wider audience.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Day#Earth_Day_2020)
