ENERGETIC NEW ADAPTATION OF A CLASSIC STORY

(recommended for age 5 & up)

Run May 15- May 31

This is a cleverly realized version of the classic tale, a play with music- anchored in stage magic that will make you forget all about the Disney version. From the moment Gepetto creates him from a stick of wood, Pinocchio dreams of being a real boy. But will the all-too-tempting delights of puppet shows and Playland be too much for Pinocchio? When Gepetto is swallowed by a whale, it is up to this little puppet to show his courage and prove his love for his Papa is real. This is a new, fast-paced, story-within-a-story version of Pinocchio. As the audience enters, the stage is set as if the whole place is an unfinished theater space- getting ready for a show- about to be painted. The whole stage is exposed. Drop cloths cover surfaces, there is a scaffold tower. The place is littered with wooden trestles, planks, paint cans, stepladders, saws, rope, hammers, paintbrushes etc. All of which become the various objects and places in the telling of Pinocchio. The whole is lit by a ghost light. A painter enters. He is humming a little tune and carrying a can of paint- ready to get to work. He is not expecting us…

No online sales available for: Thursday May 21 – 7pm Thrifty Thursdays! (Tickets available day of show at box office starting at 1pm, cash or check only)
