Alice in Wonderland

Our world premiere new musical, Alice in Wonderland, closes May 28!

May 5 – May 28 2023

An imaginative, musical twist on a classic tale.

Written by Lavinia Roberts
Music by Ahmed Alabaca
Directed by Lily Raabe
Assistant Directed by Jordan Richards

Follow us down the rabbit hole as OFT produces a magical new musical adaptation of Alice in Wonderland that will delight audiences of all ages. Our production of Alice is not your average play – every day before the show audiences will be invited to follow three White Rabbits into a 1,000-square foot interactive and immersive Wonderland art installation – designed by Natalie “Wild Tiny” Coblentz, in OFT’s new O YAA studio space next door.

A bit more about the play:
This modern-day musical features many of your favorite classic characters – like the Mad Hatter, the Caterpillar, the March Hare and more – while bringing up the maddening themes of environmentalism and climate justice. As the Cheshire Cat says, “There’s a good deal to be mad about these days. Anger is all the rage. I am mad, and you are mad – here’s the thing, we all are mad. Where do we go from here? The answer isn’t clear. It’s easy to get lost in the madness.” Join Alice on her adventure through Wonderland as she makes new friends and is faced with an impossible decision: overthrow the Queen of Hearts or allow Wonderland to burn.

A bit more about the installation:
Starting thirty minutes before every performance, ticket holders will be invited to immerse themselves in a 1000-square foot interactive Wonderland art installation filled with live characters, activities, and art. Photos and videos will be allowed during the art installation.

Recommended for ages 5 and up.

The performance runs for approximately 95 minutes including a 10-minute intermission.

Ticket Policies:

ACCESS FOR ALL TICKETING!!

We believe that access to art is a human right – which is why we are piloting an ACCESS FOR ALL ticketing initiative for ALL SHOWS THIS SEASON.

Producing theater costs money, and ticket sales play a huge role in our ability to sustain our work! However, we also believe in allowing community members to choose the best / most appropriate ticket price for them. If folks who can pay a little more do, it will empower others to pay a little less when they need to. The outcome? Everyone will be able to attend the theater – and we’ll be able to keep the lights on.

ACCESS FOR ALL tickets will be reservable online on a sliding scale of $5-$55.

Additionally. 15% of the house will be held for walk-ups. Walk-up tickets will be available free-of-cost (although you are welcome to pay if you have the resources to)!

We can’t wait to see you at the theater!

All ticket sales are final. Tickets cannot be refunded.

Something come up? Tickets may be exchanged for another performance, as long as seats are still available. Tickets may be exchanged before the show for an exchange fee of $3 per ticket, but not after the performance date has passed.

In the event that you are ill, please stay home! We will gladly exchange your tickets to another performance of the same show with no fee.

Patrons can use a link in their ticket confirmation email to do a self-exchange or contact our box office.

You may also gift your tickets to anyone else who would like to use them.

Tickets may also be released and donated back to the theater.

Tickets may also be released and donated back to the theater, in which case you will receive a donation tax receipt.

Walk-up tickets are available the day of the performance in person at our box office, 1 hour prior to that performance.

Walk-up tickets are limited to 4 tickets per group.

Health and Safety:

Your Family's Safety is our top priority!

OFT’s Commitment to Health and Safety in Our Theater

OFT is dedicated to creating a safe environment for our audiences and staff as we welcome you to our theater. Currently, we are moving forward with the following COVID-19 protocols:

(1) Masks are strongly encouraged, but not required for classes or shows on Fridays and Saturdays. However, we will require masks at all Sunday performances at the theater to ensure greater accessibility for more people.

(2) We are not currently requiring proof of vaccination.

(3) We ask that you please stay home if you are feeling unwell. We are happy to offer to reschedule your tickets – for free – if you are feeling unwell. Together, we can keep everyone safe.

**Please note: We are continuing to closely monitor COVID case counts, new variants, and community health guidelines. We reserve the right to change our current policies at any time for the health and safety of our community. We appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times.**

More details about our in-person camp health and safety policy.

We are monitoring the guidance of the Thurston County Department of Public Health and Social Services, the Washington State Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and we ask that you do the same. As new information comes in from them, we will be updating the impact to our programs and productions.

Finally, we know that the choice to be vaccinated is complicated and multifaceted. We encourage everyone to demonstrate compassion and actively help to combat incidents of bias or social stigma.
