For 50 years, Charles (Chuck) Meares has been involved in theatre, entertainment, and education. His professional training in theatre arts began at the age of 14, at the Actor’s and Writer’s Workshop in Atlanta, GA. He appeared in dramatic and musical productions throughout high school and received two best actor awards. At 23, he was accepted into the acting apprentice program at the Academy Theater in Atlanta. During his seven years with the Academy he completed three years of training, was a member of the resident acting company, Administrative Director of the School of Performing Arts, as well as an Assistant to the Artistic Director and a teacher.
In 2005, he received training in clowning, magic, and balloon sculptures from Clown’s Unlimited in Kent, Wa.
He has performed in, taught and produced and directed at over one hundred events in his career, in churches, schools, community and senior centers, corporate and private gatherings. The organizations he’s worked with include Unitarian Universalist and Unity Churches, the Omni International Atlanta, KinderCare, Los Angeles Children’s Museum, Seattle Center, and Microsoft.
