Auditions for OFT’s Daytime Programs

When: Saturday, June 8, 11am
Where: Olympia Family Theater
Who: Adult actors, age 18 and up, with flexible daytime schedules, excited to be part of fun, high energy, interactive shows for children and their families!

No appointment necessary. Auditions will consist of provided sides and theatre game fun

Details:  Daytime at OFT consists of Let’s Play (a series of short 20-30 min. plays, one new show performed Wed – Sun on the first week of each month, and geared towards our youngest audiences members, ages 0-5) and On The Move (a twice yearly touring production, visiting local elementary schools, libraries, and other community locales).

Rehearsals for Let’s Play and On The Move typically occur during the day on weekdays, so actors must have daytime availability in which to rehearse and must be available for performances during the mornings of Wed – Sun (Let’s Play) and available for performances during weekday, school hours during the designated touring weeks in the months of November & March (On the Move).  Actors can audition for only one or both programs.  Rehearsal schedules are cooperatively created with the cast of each new production.

Let’s Play and On the Move shows require actors to play multiple characters, make quick costume changes, interact with audience members, and most importantly, love sharing the magic of theatre with kids and their families!  Actors must also consent to a background check, follow theater rules and procedures (including performance dress code), and respect agreed upon rehearsal schedules and call times.  Actors will also be reuired to help set up and take down performance curtains on performance days and strike costumes and props at the end of production.

Let’s Play and On the Move actors are paid, per performance, at the close of each production.  Let’s Play and On the Move are directed by OFT Daytime Program Director, Hannah Eklund.  To get an idea of what our program is like, please join us at 10 am on June 8, prior to auditions, to see our Saturday performance of June’s Let’s Play show, Aesop’s Fables!
