Summer Stage Auditions: The Phantom Tollbooth

AUDITION EXPECTATIONS/DETAILS:
–Audition appointments are not necessary.
–Please arrive a few minutes early to fill out audition sheet.
–Please bring along your July/Aug calendar and any conflicts (dates you are already unavailable).
–Please arrive on time. We will play a warm-up game as a group and talk about the play.
–Please dress comfortably and be ready to move.
–No prepared monologue or resumes are necessary. For these auditions, we will read from sides.
–It will be helpful for you to read the book it is based on ahead of time.
–If you are unavailable on our audition date contact and we will do our best to schedule something else.
–OFT values inclusion and supports casting of all genders and ethnic backgrounds.
SUMMER STAGE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Summer Stage is an opportunity for young performers to participate in a full-length audition, rehearsal and performance process. Summer stage will focus on ensemble building, collaboration and inspiring a sense of confidence in the theater making process. This will be a fun filled 5-week rehearsal process culminating in two weekends of ticketed performances on the OFT Mainstage!

–Audition REQUIRED on 4/20/19
–REGISTRATION: will take place after casting is finalized
–TUITION: Sliding scale $175-$275
–REHEARSALS: will be in the evenings July 15th – Aug 15th (M-Th only) 6:30-8:30 pm
–PERFORMANCES: Aug 16-18 and Aug 23-25, Fridays at 7 pm, Saturday & Sundays at 2 pm
TUITION FOR SUMMER STAGE: To make participation in Summer Stage shows more accessible, we are using sliding scale tuition. Participants self-select what they are able to pay between $175-275. Once cast, families choose the tuition level right for them. Tuition information is kept confidential. Tuition helps us cover the costs of the Summer Stage, including royalties, director and stage manager fees, set and costume materials, and the rest of our personnel who lead your students through the experience of presenting a Summer Stage show. SHOW DESCRIPTION:
The Phantom Tollbooth
An all-youth performance where audiences accompany Milo on his adventures in the Land of Wisdom, where he meets a host of interesting characters like The Whether Man, the Lethargians, Tock the Watchdog, the Minister of Meaning and many more. Milo learns of the argument between King Azaz and his brother, the Mathemagician, whose disagreement over words and numbers has led to the banishment of Princesses Sweet Rhyme and Pure Reason. Milo is sent on a quest to rescue the princesses from the Land of Ignorance.
