Spring After School Production, at the OFT Playspace, 112 State Ave NE
NO AUDITION REQUIRED! We will have a Spring After School production for kids age 7-12. Rehearsals will run May 20 – June 12, with performances the weekend of June 13 – 16.
We will rehearse “after school” – between 4pm and 6pm, three or four times a week. This is an educational program for younger actors to gain experience and increase their skills in a fun and supportive atmosphere working with OFT professional staff.
Tuition is offered on a sliding scale from $75 — $250. Adapted and Directed by Kate Ayers.
Tickets for performances will be $5 for children, and $8 for adults. Space is limited, so reserve your tickets in advance!
Kate Ayers has toured extensively throughout the Midwest performing in educational theatre programs in schools and museums. She has written curriculum for theatre based programming and has 20+ years teaching experience ranging from pre-schoolers to university students. As Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Children’s Theatre, Inc, (90-97), Kate was active in all areas of educational theatre from playwriting, teaching, and directing. Ms Ayers ran the Theatre program at the Indiana Women’s Prison for 10 years, studied at the Goodman Theatre School, and graduated at Columbia and the Playback School at Vassar. She has her Masters in Applied Sociology and uses theatre for business management training, and team building. Kate appeared locally with Olympia Family Theater in “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day”, wrote and/or directed shows in 2012 for our school touring group: “OFT On the Move” and was seen on stage recently for us in “Goodnight Moon” and “Go, Dog. Go!”.
